Need a break in your week? Come join us for some evening Scrabble this Thursday!

We'll be at Swim Café in Chicago's West Town neighborhood, 1357 W. Chicago Ave. (just east of Ashland, between Noble & Ada, across the street from Eckhart Park) There is usually plenty of parking along Chicago Ave, and there is free parking on side streets. The Chicago Ave bus stops at Noble Street. An organizer will be at Swim from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

On weeknights, Swim is BYOB (21+ only). I will be Bing a little B to share...

Swim has a plethora of Deluxe Scrabble sets, and a dictionary on hand, but it's also a good idea to bring your own set if you have one.

ODDS AND ENDS

Several members of the group have asked if we can hold meetups in other locations and other parts of the city instead of Swim Cafe. The answer is -- absolutely! And it doesn't have to be instead of -- why not in addition to? There's never too much Scrabble... If you know of a coffee shop, quiet restaurant, or other friendly business that wants to host Scrabble nights, email Steve or David with the details. We'll help you get started.

Other folks have asked if they can play in more of a tournament format (timers, etc.) since the Meetup is mostly casual. The answer is -- absolutely! Feel free to ask if anyone wants to join in. You might get some nos, but I'll definitely play a timed game with you.
